FIRE!!

Even though 0ur friend Allan Brown has retired as President of the Rotary, he continues to be involved with numerous projects including the first ever fire sculpture event at the Petone Winter festival (for our contacts back home in Minnesota, even though the water is not frozen and there's no snow on the ground, this is the dead of winter).

The first shot is of the artist accidentally posing as the fire dancer sculpture, with
 Allan on the right.

Step 1 was Allan installing the platforms
Step 2 was the sculptor
s installing their wooden and flammable work
Step 3 was "anyone have a light?"
Step 4 was a northerly wind that blew all the sparks into the harbour

Angie's B-day Bud

O.K.  Late for birthdays is one thing; Late for Birthday blog posts is another.
So here is a belated update on Angie's b-day.  We had a great weekend in Martinborough Wine Country, but besides my superficial barrage of tawdry material gifts, I also arranged a date for Angie.  No, our marriage and love life is just fine, but I only have two legs and there is a spot in Angie's heart for four.

So Angie and Kip had a date.  Kip was a set up from a friend of a good Kiwi friend, Pattrick.
We were warned that Kip was an older pooch, but he wanted to climb those NZ hills you see in the background much faster and further than we did.  Anyway, a great
day was had by all eight of our legs.

P.S.  Only one of us pooped in public.
